Week 8

In today's lecture (19/03/18), the lecturer taught about 'Business Models and strategies in a digital world'. The lecturer also made us watch a video about the 5 trends shaping the future of work and combining all five of these trends to force organisation to change the way they think about how the work in an organisation gets done. The five trends being : globalization, mobility, changing demographics, new behaviors, and mobility. The lecturer also spoke about features of an organisation as well as the 5 types of organisational structures and the strategies. The different types of level in an organisation was also discusses. The lecturer spoke clearly and I was able to understand it clearly.

In our seminar (23/03/18), our teacher went through Excel exercises again and went through Scenario exercises and taught us how to do the scenario summary. Although, at first it was quite difficult to keep up with all the numbers and the instructions that we had to do in order get the summary, it got better by practice. The more I tried, the more I was able to familiarise myself with how to do the scenario summary. There are couple of long steps that you have to take in order to get your final result which is the summary, if the results are incorrect or if you had made an error in the table or when using the scenario manager tool then the result will come up as error, so we had to be careful and pay special attention to the numbers and the steps that we were taking.
